Black & Camel color: The leather of this belt is 100% full grain leather. Full grain means that the complete thickness of the skin is used. The leather will keep its strength and will age beautifully as the leather will soften and the color will deepen. The leather is vegetal tanned in Italy, so without use of any chemicals. No animal has been killed for its skin only. The buckle is made of ZAMAC (= combination of Zinc, Aluminium, Magnesium and Copper). Zamak die-casting process disperses negligible emission levels in the air and in the water. Furthermore, production waste is recyclable and energy consumption is very low.
Ivory color: This belt is 100% leather. The upper part is top-grain leather. It is produced from the hide but the outermost layer is sanded off so that any imperfection or irregularities are removed. Beautiful in bright colors. The backing of the belt is made of reconstructed leather. The 2 leathers are glued together. The leather was chrome-tanned in Italy according to the European regulations, they use CHROME VI which brings no harm to the workers nor to the environment. The resin: Our GAYLE earrings are made of synthetic resin. They are injected into molds and then cut, are made of methacrylate, a form of acrylic. Working with resin is difficult. Our Italian manufacturer are experts and create their own recipes. It is an art in itself and requires a lot of experience and handwork to create these marbled colors.
