Behind the collection: AW21

Behind the collection: AW21

Every Kate and Jules collection has a story, and Autumn/Winter 21 is no different.

We started creating the AW21 collection when we were facing a second lockdown. Stores had to close again, people were trapped at home and the fashion industry was in crisis.

In that moment we realized that people all react differently when they are faced with a crisis. There’s no right or wrong way to cope, but this collection is for those who tackle the challenge head-on. The ones with a kind heart, a fierce mind, and a brave spirit.

We wanted the collection to be soft and wooly like a kind heart: so lots of knitwear to make you feel comfy and warm. We also wanted it to be fierce, so we added silk blouses in unique patterns to make you feel bold, powerful, and beautiful. And we wanted it to be brave, so we added some bright colors to help you stand out from the crowd.

Of course, there are plenty of belts because we believe you simply cannot go out without a belt: choose a big belt or a more classic one, but just wear a belt.

As always, no fast fashion here. Every piece is made in Belgium or Italy by manufacturers we know and respect - crafts(wo)men at the heart of our creative process who are a big part of who we are as a brand.

We hope AW21 gives you as much joy as it gave us in the making!
